I have been making my own shaders, lighting, and enhancing fx in games I love for many years and I've always tried to be super creative, especially when it comes to comic book titles. The Arkham series - Knight in particular - haven't seen a heavy modding scene over the years so I have continously revisited those games to add my own flare. I've shared videos in the past of my overhaul of Arkham Origins to make it look more like Lee Bermejo's artwork and I started applying the same scripts to Knight to make it look more like concept art in motion.
I think I have finally perfected that aesthetic and I can now add more. The goal is also to encourage people and capture artists to use in-game material for concept art and prints with clever uses of photo mode, especially in Unreal titles that have assers easily edited in-engine and re-exported, as modders always do. Gathering textures and data in Arkham Knight is very interesting where you can use the modding tools to drive around the city and automatically rip assets. I used that method years ago and after many stylistic iterations with the visuals, I figured it was time to jump back in.
So far I have "remastered" each title in the mainline arkham series of games and for knight, since the release of The Batman, I have been working on making it have the style of the concept art from The Art of The Batman. I love painting and 3D so it was a no brainer to combine the two. I will share shaders and materials to my Art Station once I feel completely satisfied.
