It's been too long since we had a cinematic like The Old Republic so with those memories in hand and having had the privilege to learn advanced animation, and modeling techniques hands-on thanks to my past incredible connections to EA and Disney Interactive (RIP) staff when I was basically just getting my feet wet in the 3D world I get to do QA & video game testing for companies such as EA, Square Enix/Crystal Dynamic, and various Sony titles. Back in 2015 and 2016 when the gorgeous Old Republic cinematics were being made I had the honor of not only observing the process but also giving design suggestions and creating basic fan art model renders to Disney Interactive while Disney Infinity 3.0 was in development which I sent via email while also receiving hands-on advice and training via videos released publicly, calls, speaking with lead artists in any way I could, and more at School from a teacher experienced in 3D design on animation/motion capture clean up. After that experience my connections to the larger Star Wars community only started to grow which also allowed me to bring equally passionate friends along for the ride.
With all of that being said I've taken it upon myself to return to the animation world to create short cinematics which, with time especially without the same motion capture and rendering tech/specs, I hope will be on par with Bioware's quality. Pictured in this post is the first character for my story: L'aana Taal whom is an experience Twilek Jedi master during the days of the old/high republic era. She is also the head of research and development within the Jedi order. L'aana and her Chiss husband Raga'aal Tier, who is a jedi instructor, are the parents of two kids, a girl named Sue Taal and a boy Brauv Tier. Their parents are not married which is why they have separate last names, as per the jedi code. Massive props to the artists of the old republic cinematics and I hope to directly be part of future projects if they happen.
If you haven't already - watch the two old republic trailers - and the rest - on Youtube.
